A.J. McKee faces unbeaten Salamat Isbulaev at PFL San Diego
The PFL will make its first trip to San Diego on June 27, with A.J. McKee facing unbeaten Salamat Isbulaev in a featherweight headliner at Pechanga Arena San Diego.
McKee, a former Bellator champion, rides a two-fight streak since returning to 145 pounds. He took a unanimous decision over Adam Borics last month at PFL Madrid and sits at No. 2 in the promotion’s rankings, per MMA Fighting. The bout was not announced as a title fight despite the featherweight belt sitting vacant.
Isbulaev’s perfect record on the line
Isbulaev brings a spotless 10-0 mark into his first marquee assignment. The 29-year-old Kazakh debuted for the PFL in February, forcing Jesus Pinedo to tap to strikes in the opening frame. Nine of his ten wins have come in the first round, with nearly equal splits between knockouts and submissions. McKee, by contrast, has gone past the opening round in all but one of his last eight outings, according to Sherdog.
The promotion has not yet released additional matchups for the card. It marks the PFL’s first event in California since PFL 9 in 2018.
