Spence Vs. Tszyu Eyed For Australia

Errol Spence Jr. vs. Tim Tszyu is being eyed for a summer clash in a junior middleweight fight.
The bout is scheduled for July 26, 2026, in Australia, which will broadcast in the United States on July 25. This marks Spence’s first appearance in the ring since his loss to Terence Crawford in July 2023. After a career defined by his dominance at welterweight, this marks Spence’s official entry into the junior middleweight division.
Traveling abroad after a three-year hiatus is a risky move. He will be walking into a hostile environment against a younger, naturally larger opponent who is a massive draw in his home country. Spence has recently split from long-time trainer Derrick James and will make his debut under the guidance of Ronnie Shields for this camp.
Tszyu is looking to use Spence as a springboard back to a title shot. Tszyu enters the bout coming off a stoppage win over Denis Nurja in early April, showing no lingering effects from the scalp cut he suffered against Fundora. A win over Spence would arguably be the greatest victory in his career. Based on their prior comments, both fighters are ready.
Reaction
“Me and Errol is going to be one hell of a fight, it’s a banger. You know how I am, I don’t take a backwards step. If he wants to meet me at the front, bring it on. You know what they say, catch the big fish. Let’s go fishing,” Tszyu said
“You think sh*t sweet [I’mma] do you so bad,” Spence stated
