Professional Career

 

Dave Apolinario, an undefeated professional boxer from the Philippines, has steadily climbed the ranks with an impressive career. His journey began with a bang on June 10, 2017, when he made his professional debut by stopping Prince Canonero in the first round at Robinsons’ Mall Atrium, General Santos. Following this, he maintained his momentum with a series of decisive victories, including a unanimous decision win over Rio Gulipatan on July 23, 2017, and a first-round TKO against Rudy Salaton on September 9, 2017, at Polomolok Gym.

 

Continuing his winning streak, Apolinario notched another TKO victory against Rez Padrogane on November 5, 2017, at Robinsons’ Mall Atrium. He started 2018 with a second-round KO of Frankie Batuon on January 10 at Gaisano Mall Atrium, General Santos. His success extended into the year with unanimous decision wins over Jenuel Lauza on March 10 in Mandaluyong City and Michael Camelion on September 9 in Polomolok, where he claimed the vacant WBC ABCO Youth flyweight title.

 

Apolinario retained this title multiple times, showcasing his prowess with victories such as a first-round KO against Joan Imperial on October 29, 2018, at Midas Hotel and Casino, Pasay City, and a unanimous decision over Romshane Sarguilla on February 9, 2019, at the same venue. He continued to defend his title successfully, including a fifth-round RTD win against Richard Rosales on December 14, 2019, at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City. In 2020, Apolinario faced Bonjun Loperez on November 21 at Sanman Gym, General Santos, securing another RTD victory in the fourth round. He then moved on to claim the WBA Asia flyweight title by stopping Charlie Malupangue in the fourth round on July 16, 2021, at Tabunok Sports Complex, Talisay City.

 

Apolinario’s career reached new heights when he won the vacant IBO flyweight title with a stunning first-round KO of Gideon Buthelezi on July 29, 2022, at the International Convention Centre in East London. He continued to dominate in 2023, with a second-round RTD win over Frengky Rohi on February 11 at Sanman Gym and a unanimous decision victory over Brian Mosinos on August 30 at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo. Most recently, Apolinario extended his undefeated streak to 20-0 by knocking out Tanes Ongjunta in the fourth round on February 22, 2024, at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo.
